8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher

The HAZWOPER 8 hr refresher course meets OSHA's requirements for eight hours of HAZWOPER refresher training. This annual refresher training class is designed for any emergency response worker or hazardous waste site worker who previously completed the 40 or 24 hour HAZWOPER training.

The HAZWOPER Refresher course's goal is to ensure workers stay competent and up to date on safety practices related to operations involving hazardous substances. The course helps employees stay up to date with new systems, equipment, and laws. Workers employed in specific activities like emergency response, treatment, storage and disposal, contaminated and hazardous waste site clean-up, and uncontrolled hazardous waste site operations must receive eight hours of HAZWOPER refresher training each year.

The HAZWOPER certification is valid for up to 12 months. Workers will be required to retake the HAZWOPER refresher training every 12 months to keep their certificate. If the deadline is missed, employees may be required to complete the original 40 hour or 24 hour HAZWOPER training again.
